Fresh Country Air...

Smell that fresh. country. air.

All that manure that was stored all summer is now being spread on the bare fields for fertilizer.

Even if I couldn't see it, my nose would tell me the corn fields are bare!

  2. How bad is it that I wish it was me. All of that lovely manure! My field would love it. Just getting ready for spring planting. AS my Dad would say, its the smell of money. :) Have a lovely weekend.

  5. We live in Northern Ireland and found your blog earlier this year. We also live on a small farm and we have beef cattle not dairy. Our farm/house is near a village called Trillick which is 15 miles from the town of Omagh and 11 miles from the town of Enniskillen. We live in County Tyrone. We are Evangelical Christians with an 18 year old daughter. Your blog is most interesting and enjoyable to read.

  7. No corn or sunflowers being harvested here yet. I hear some ranchers are working on chopping corn.

J started hauling manure yesterday. He has one years worth of manure to spread and it shouldn't take him long.

    Have a great week!

  8. Sounds like harvesting is upon you. It feels good when you have time to get everything done.

  9. And, another season passes... bet it feels good to get the harvesting done!

You know, I don't mind the cow manure on the fields, but I really, really dislike the pig manure... yucky!

Have a lovely weekend, and enjoy this cooler season and the beginning of Fall :)
