21 Bpm....

What is 21 bpm?

Well...it's like this...

When you've been unloading corn fodder for four hours straight with your friends...and you get a little bored (and tired)...you have a contest.  How many bales can you get from the wagon to the hay mow (stacked) in one minute?

Eric and his friends tried it.  They started out at 8...then 13...and then finally, their record...21 bales per minute.

There you have it!  Bpm...

To keep things interesting, you can also decorate the ladder with loose bale ropes...

...and crush your soda cans...

...and best of all, you go out for pizza afterwards!

A lot of fodder got unloaded and stacked the past few days.  Thanks guys!

  4. bpm, now that's something I have to tell my brothers about...but then again, they may be getting a bit old and soon winded, to play that game.
I just caught up on several of your entries and I agree, I love Oct.
You live such an interesting life on the farm, so much different than I grew up with.

  14. I see you small bale your corn stalks. Most people around here do the large ton bales. We don't bale ours up, but graze them out. I hate the thought of winter coming. :(

    1. We do small bales because of the way we use them. The large ones would be less labor intensive for baling, for sure, but we wouldn't have a way to store them, move them around, put small amounts of fodder in our gutters and bed up our heifer pens. :)
