Sunrise...

Sometimes it feels like we'll never see the sun again.  We've had blah weather ever since last weekend, before Sandy blew through.  A few glimpses of the sun here and there, but mostly a gray cloud cover...and  we might get a little sloppy snow later this week.

Yesterday morning however, we were treated to this gorgeous sunrise...

After a few minutes, the sun was again obscured by clouds, and I haven't seen it since.

But I know it's up there, and for that I am thankful!

  2. It is completely cloud here today, too, in Kansas... with a light mist falling. I wish it would turn into a good, steady rain!

  3. We are having the same here this morning. The sun just came out to remind us of being grateful and to reassure us and go and hide again.
We know that the sun will come again soon but we like to have him around especially at this time of year.

  4. I'm always grateful for even a glimpse of sunshine once the days cool to ice cold. It was 18F this morning and off to the fields Bill went with the tractor and plow, hoping to finish this week. Snow by tonight and heavy rains over the weekend could put a quick stop to the winter rye seeding.
You have a beautiful place. There aren't so many productive farms left up in N WI where we live so it's a pleasure to see your beautiful fields and those precious cows. It makes me miss my Tilly cow and Amber, Gracie, etc, etc, etc. I miss even the small scale hobby farming we used to do. Now we work organic potato fields for a seed company, so different. No personal interaction with the animals which I miss...oh, well. It was fun while our backs held out.

  5. I would trade you. Today it will hit 90 again. We have a storm coming but not until the end of the week. I love your pictures. Yep, it is nice to know it is up there. Have you ever heard that little poem that goes something like this: I believe in the sun when it doesn't shine. I believe in love even when I am alone, I believe in God even when He is silent.
In my Sunday school class when I was in third grade it hung on the wall. Your picture made me think of it. Because it looked like your sunrise. Have a nice week Alica

  8. Yes, of course, Ladysmith is just down the road to the west, turn south and we go right through it on our way to see our daughter and one of our sons. We stop at the Feed Store to buy cornmeal, cornstarch, wheat and rye flour, canning salt and sometimes even, grain and winter rye seed for the gardens. Lovely meeting you. I enjoyed about you and your values Alica. You come from fine roots.
    Blessings
