Spring Is Coming...

I have to believe it's true, because it happens every year.  Over...and over again...no matter how cold and brutal the winter, spring eventually comes! That's one of the benefits of living in a climate where we have four equal seasons.

We're still in the freezer here, although I sense a tiny bit of warmth in the sun that's shining today.  Thus, a post about spring, and positive things, to keep that hopeful feeling alive...

The mercury was above freezing today...for the second time this week...and there's a hint of warmth in the air...

We opened the outside pen water line this morning...no holding the hose in the freezing cold air while the heifers push and shove each other impatiently...

The barn doors on the south are wide open today, and Little Ed preened himself in the warm sun on top of the compressor shanty again...

Snickers and Murphy sunned themselves in the yard.  Not a care in the world for these two...not even the energy to get up and say hello...just a few tail wags for me.  I loved hearing the birds in the tree over my head too...

The snow is almost gone...

And the milk truck is shiny again.  All the road salt has been washed off, and will hopefully stay off for a while.  I liked the reflection of the barn and the beautiful blue sky in the trailer...

The days are getting longer...yay!  It wasn't so long ago that by 5:00 in the evening, it was pretty well dark.  Now we're getting close to twelve hours of daylight again, and I love it!

Yes, it will be below freezing for a while yet...and I think I even heard the "S" word for tomorrow...

...but spring really is right around the corner!

  4. Oh the snow! Will it ever leave, will Spring ever arrive? I I am watching the snow fall and we are getting hit with a wet and heavy storm. I am waiting on my hubby to get home. He was waiting, waiting, waiting for the bus to arrive. Always late in the elements. You would think they would have extra drivers as they knew this storm was coming! My pleasure to visit.

  5. I have Spring envy. We got another 8 to 10 inches of snow today on top of all the snow we had. Snow banks are getting higher and higher with no place to put the snow. The temperature is getting warmer this week but we had -23 °C or -9.4 °F. yesterday.

I know once the temperature are above freezing we'll have a lot of melting snow to deal with and I really worry about severe flooding should it melt too fast and it also depends about all the snow up river from us.

    Enjoy your nice weather.
    Hugs,
    JB

  6. So glad to see you and yours are finally seeing the end of your deep freeze weather. So weird that your side of the country got all the weather. We're so warm here the crocus are blooming and the fruit trees are threatening to bloom--which could be very bad news when that late frost comes. And it will.

  7. We are getting rain right now, and the wind is blowing like a gale. The temp went to 55 today, and then dropped to thirty within a few hours... BRRRRRR

I'm so glad you're thinking spring!

I liked your video. That is cute. I sat out in the sun yesterday too. It was so nice.
I bet your trees will be in leaf again soon.
