What's Bloomin'...

Spring is in full bloom here...

The Iris are open...a full two weeks early...

The Peonies' buds are swelling, and will be open soon.  I like seeing them next to the Iris...

In another few days, these Japanese Iris will be covered with blooms.  Most are blue or purple, with a few white mixed in...

I was surprised to see these Rose buds just about to open too...

The Spiderwort loves the cool weather we've been having.  When it gets too hot, it stops blooming until it cools off.  I planted the chartreuse one last year, and the one behind it with the dark green foliage volunteered from about fifteen feet away...

Flax is one of my favorite spring flowers.  It blooms when it's cool, but doesn't like our hot, humid summers.

Can you tell I like blue?

These daisies are showing off in my "spring blooming bed" next to the house...

This spring has just been fabulous for the flowers!  After a long dry spell, we've now had just about the perfect amount of rain, and wonderful cool-ish days...a real spring, for the first time in a while.

The flowers are thankful, and are showing it!

  1. I'm so glad that you are having some nice spring weather this year for your spring flowers. Your flower beds are so beautiful and so neat and tidy.

Most of my perennial flower beds are overgrown and weedy and the soil needs replenishing and I haven't been up to it this spring. I have some tripes in my
    day lilies.

My bulb flowerbeds are in bloom but they also have weeds.

  2. Your spring is way ahead of ours! thanks for sharing.

  3. It all looks so beautiful. I remember many goats ago that I had well-tended flower beds. :-)

  4. Beautiful gardens and photos of them. It is a bit slow with some of the flowers here as we have been having unusual weather and temps on and off I think it all is confused as whether to bloom or not. But I am sure it all will work its self out here soon, some have come and gone early though . Have a good day !

  5. Beautiful flowers and flower beds...not a weed in sight !

We are quite a few weeks away from our irises blooming, so thanks for sharing yours :)

Have a great weekend and a wonderful Mother's Day!

  6. I totally love that picture with the Irises next to the white fence with your dog that is just a great picture.
You place is beautiful. Just my idea of a perfect farm. :) It looks like a picture in a book.

  7. Your chartreuse spiderwort is beautiful!

  8. All of your flowers are soooo beautiful and I'm especially jealous of all your different colored irises!
My backyard is purple...irises, lavender, echinacea, butterfly bush, vitex, etc., etc., etc. :)

  9. Amazing gardens of flowers! I like them all. I favor the blue ones myself. Once I planted blue flax here. It did so well it became a noxious weed. As much as I loved the blue blossoms, I had to dig it up before it took over.

  10. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I saw the name of yours and had to come over and see!!!!
Your flowers look amazing! I don't have flower gardens due to loose chickens and sheep they tend to eat them right up!

  11. how lovely! can you come do my flower beds when they are done with my house please. blue is a great color. thank you for all your sweet comments.

I enjoy hearing what you have to say! Thanks for your comments!
