Way back in April, when the corn was first planted, I decided to do an "experiment". I followed the corn from the day it was planted until it was harvested. You can follow the growth of the corn by clicking here... (Each post contains a link that takes you back further, until you get to the first one!)
Here is the final result...
That corn stalk took on a new look yesterday morning...
It quickly turned into this...
Now it needs to ferment in the silo until it feeds a hungry cow. Then, it will eventually turn into this...
The cycle continues!
OH how I remember the fermenting juice that escaped our silos and the strong odour. The cows just loved to drink it and some even got pretty happy on it. Cow moon shine.
ReplyDeleteOne day , my neighbour's son who was going for a walk saw some cows by the silos. He told me that he wish his little son could see the cows but if he went home to get him, by the time he would return, the cows would be gone. I assured him that he could go home and get his kid as the cow would certainly still be there when he came back. He went and got his little boy and the cows were still sipping the juice when he returned. He even took pictures of the cows sipping the fermented juice.
Take care and happy harvesting. JB
How fun to follow the corn through the whole process! It does take a lot to make that milk!
ReplyDeleteOh I love the whole process, but I never saw the white stuff only the green stuff. That is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThere is so much I would love to learn.
Hi Alica..
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you that you were able to get a good harvest of corn!
Have a happy day.
Smiles :)

And the cycle continues! :)
