Do they ha...Hi Alicia, you have good looking kids. Do they have the rough farm raised hands as you did (I read your bio) when you were growing up. The Farmstead is really nice, standing out on the hilltop. It reminds me of the Iowa type.
I grew up on a farm in Eastern Nebraska so I had a lot of that also. We had a small farm that grew corn and oats (now soy beans are replacing the oats) and then fed the grain to multiply the revenue that selling the grain would bring. We milked about ten cows and sold the cream. The calves we matched with an equal number we bought at auction and fed them until they were 'fat cattle.' We also raised chickens, sold the roosters except for the ones we ate on Sundays and the pullets which we kept for laying hens. Mom was the chicken lady but I helped her some. Also we had about 40-50 head of hogs we grew from piglets having about twelve mamas.
Congrats again to the grad. Will he be going to college? Where?
..Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02982249173214655060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1749684475391974742.post-46507750398605224942016-02-21T16:50:45.720-05:002016-02-21T16:50:45.720-05:00I love your place, it is so beautiful!
