The silage is fed out from the top twice per day, and the weight of the silage preserves what is underneath.
Yes, farming is very dangerous, and we can't take safety for granted!Alicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17973714830730420149noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1749684475391974742.post-83440730835752893872011-02-05T20:39:14.519-05:002011-02-05T20:39:14.519-05:00Excellant photos.

Still, it should just about last us until it's time to chop again in August.Alicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17973714830730420149noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1749684475391974742.post-91735942104513743062011-02-04T21:21:54.785-05:002011-02-04T21:21:54.785-05:00Wow! Then when I saw the photo of someone pulling back the plastic on that long white hump there...I was like, whoa! How interesting. I love to see the behind the scenes stuff from farm life!Bonniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13485155713261218739noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1749684475391974742.post-27452290571491784332011-02-04T21:11:55.470-05:002011-02-04T21:11:55.470-05:00Yes, it is a great feeling! It should be done when it's cold, and the ground frozen...and with the strange fluxuations in weather we've been having, it could have been a problem. It rained on Wednesday, froze again, and is to rain again tomorrow!Alicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17973714830730420149noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1749684475391974742.post-67096908979651273262011-02-04T20:02:29.550-05:002011-02-04T20:02:29.550-05:00That has to be such a satisfying feeling to get th...That has to be such a satisfying feeling to get that done and know you are ready for the rest of the winter.Teresahttp://edenhills.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1749684475391974742.post-67957841084126007682011-02-04T17:18:18.540-05:002011-02-04T17:18:18.540-05:00ELP...it's great to hear from you! I believe I met you when I stayed at your parents home several years ago to quilt with the Amish ladies. I love your parents and remember your mother's laugh { it makes me smile to think of her laugh} and her wonderful lima beans.
Your blog is beautiful and the pictures.......incredible. I came home from your parents home with a new fond appreciation of cows. They are so beautiful and BIG.
Say hi to your folks for me and Happy Birthday to your MOM.Eileenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17031688737964746427noreply@blogger.com
