The property I grew up on had a small family cemetary from the 1800's--mom, dad, a 10 year old son, and the adult son and his wife. It is neat you know some of the history behind this cemetary.Katerihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05645403612156172760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1749684475391974742.post-87186844907450254382012-03-20T23:05:39.167-04:002012-03-20T23:05:39.167-04:00I always find it interesting to peruse old cemetar...I always find it interesting to peruse old cemetaries. Isn't that something, I wonder what was going on to cause them to leave then. The three brothers changed one letter on the last name so that today we can tell which is which of the three brothers. It is a shame it fell in disrepair.
I love old things like this, and it makes you stop and think about how those people's choices even then are still with us today.Farm Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00998621464797636686noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1749684475391974742.post-4606259645215780482012-03-16T08:21:23.414-04:002012-03-16T08:21:23.414-04:00What an amazing piece of history! They made both our countries what they are today from their hard work and struggles.
It is so nice to see them cleaned up and honoured as they should be. Over years my Gram cared for the graves. Repairing & painting the headstones. Shortly before Gram passed she & her other brother purchased headstones to replace the handmade headstones.
